Rechte Zeit

„Mir ist, als hätte ich zu viel Sommer gehabt
und zu viel Sonne.
Alles in mir wartet darauf,
daß die Bäume alles abtun
und daß hinter ihnen die Ferne sichtbar wird
mit ihren leeren Feldern
und mit den langen Wegen
in den Winter hinein.“
(R. M. Rilke)

Amazing life

„You wake up every morning, and a whole world is delivered instantaneously to your senses – and you hardly give the sheer marvel of that fact a thought, it’s so taken for granted. The sights, sounds, textures, smells come flooding in, or rather maybe your awareness of, your attentiveness to the world floods out, and you just get up and go on with your day as if this were the simplest fact there could be, which of course it is not.”
(Lawrence Weschler, quoting Robert Irwin in a review of his artwork)

Isn’t it amazing that the world is there? That there is something like awareness or perception? And senses filtering this flood of sensations? That there is something appearing instead of just nothing being (not) there? But what can I say? I mean ... well, I don’t know what I mean. It can only be referred to as wonder, miracle, beauty. As weirdness also, and as implicitness and naturalness at the same time. As isness. As simply everything there is. The amazing life is going on. Every moment, all this, in the blink of an eye.
